we oft compare ourselves to others better than us and find ourselves lacking in things we do not have. why do ppl not compare themselves to others who are worse off than themselves instead, and be grateful for what they do have. sometimes we complain so much, abt getting lower marks, abt not being better than others, abt so much hw, abt how life is screwed cuz there's so much to do n everything's in a mess. we just fail to see there are more important needs in others' lives. everyone is talking abt the future, which jc to go, whether to go overseas to study, whether to study medicine or law. but these questions do not apply to those less privilaged, those whom have to work to pay school fees, struggle to do hw cuz no one at home can teach them, stress from parents to do well n take care of younger sister. do you think it is possible that they will make it to secondary schools, perhaps jc or poly and eventually complete their education with a decent qualification? it is so hard, to be struggling now at an age so young. reality can be harsh, we are juz too protected to see it thus. sheltered from all these it is hard to see beyond the confines of our own small world, of school, tests and hw, of pleasure and material comforts... arguing abt the unfairness of it all doesnt serve to change a thing. perhaps what we can do is to stop complaining and make the most of our lives and what we have, and in the process, try to make others' lives better...
